Somewhere around November 2015 after few months after my daughter was born, I was part of annual Men Can Cook contest. Men were invited to make their best entrée, side dish or dessert to serve it to the sorority members, friends and family and others showing their support by attending. This was a fundraiser event for Xi Kappa Omega chapter of the Alpha Kappa, a sorority for African-American women that originated at Howard University in Washington, D.C., more than 100 years ago. I made a beef-chicken dish with combination of vegetables, it was great. I had 3 trays of food, by the end of the night, everything was gone. “I enjoy the fellowship with all the other men who also competed in the contest. My wife and daughter were there to support me, it was a great experience.
